20th Annual RGS Benefit Auction
Saturday, March 20, at The Brattleboro Museum
New items, New Ideas, and Lots of Fun!
A Vermont Table, Catering by Terri Ziter
The Annual Benefit Auction supports the schools art programs and scholarships. It is an evening of bidding on fabulous items donated by local artist, craftspeople, businesses, restaurants, students and friends of the school.
Mimi Marchev and Lydia Thomson will lead a return trip to
Oaxaca, Mexico to coincide with Dias de los Muertos, or Days of the Dead, this Fall. In this age-old celebration residents traditionally honor their deceased family members by constructing ornate altars, baking special 'pan de la muertos', cooking the renowned Oaxacan black mole, and lavishly decorating gravesites. The trip will be a
combination of cultural activities, art making, great eating, and
general basking in the relaxed atmosphere of this beautiful Spanish
colonial city and its surrounding villages.
We had a wonderful trip last time -both artists and non-artists enjoyed it. Hope you can join us this time!
October 30-November 6, 2010, 7 days, 6 nights (Saturday to Saturday)
Join Barbara Merfeld Campman at our annual workshop where children and adults drop in and make an Angel, a Beast, a Shepherd,
or a King. Donate one of your creations to the RGS scholarship fund and take the
other one home. Good for the soul, good for the school, and good for our
world. Materials are provided, but feel free to bring some of your own. All works for sale will be displayed in the December Gallery Walk exhibit.
$30 per family
Coffee Break at the Vermont Welcome Center is an annual fundraiser, where we provide coffee, hot cider, hot chocolate, and baked goods with the proceeds going to support tuition scholarships.
Every month, a selection of artwork from the school's classes or instructors is shown in our gallery space, with an opening during Brattleboro's Gallery Walk, on the first Friday evening of the month. Our studios and gallery are seen by hundreds of visitors each month during this popular event. Visitors are able to see not only the results of the creative work of the students, but also the working environment.
Work from Art and Meditation Class on Exhibit
During the month of July
We will feature paintings and assemblage by
student/artists who have been participating in the Art and Meditation class.
The work in this exhibit is personal, intimate and a testimony to the inner
journeys and landscapes of the exhibiting artists.
