A lifelong resident of the nearby West River Valley, Steven has been drawing and creating products most of his life. He has an BFA from the Columbus College of Art & Design, Columbus, OH. and has taken painting workshops with Wolf Kahn, Charlie Hunter, John Traynor, Mark Boedges, David Lucier, and others. Steven is currently a member of the Rock River Artists in South Newfane and exhibits his work at the Harmony Collective in Brattleboro. He has had two shows at the Crowel Gallery in Newfane, was a longtime member of the former Windham Art Gallery, and has also exhibited at SVAC in Manchester and at Taft Hill Collection in Townshend. His art is in many private collections as far away as Japan.
Steven’s fine art focus is working representationally with India ink on Yupo paper. It can be fast and loose or slow and tedious, whichever the work calls for. Steven always says it’s about the process. Art is work. As you work, you build a pace and a rhythm that can lead you to new places. In his workshop, he stresses drawing, composition, as well as a looseness that is evident when you more closely inspect his work. Steven is new to teaching but you can learn much from this seasoned fine artist and designer. https://www.instagram.com/
