On Exhibit

Every month, a selection of artwork from the school's classes or instructors is shown in our gallery space, with an opening on Gallery Walk held yearly on the first Friday evening of the month. Our studios and gallery are seen by hundreds of visitors each month during this popular event. Visitors are able to see not only the results of the creative work of the students, but also the working environment. More Information on Brattleboro's Gallery Walk

Annual Postcard Show + Angels, Beasts, Shepherds, and Kings Fundraiser Sale

PostcardShowPileSmall Angels Beasts2014 Jodi Paloni

Join us for the annual all-school and community Postcard Show and Fundraiser. Students in each class and RGS friends and family, have created 4 x 6” works of art to be sent out into the world as postcards. Come early, and bring your address book because each piece will be available to purchase for only $5 and ready to send. This constantly changing exhibit will be on view for the month of November, with new postcards being made and hung continually. While you’re in the gallery, we invite you to sit down and make a postcard of your own to join the show. We hope you’ll take this opportunity to send a piece of the River Gallery School to your friends and family. The sale of these works will benefit our scholarship fund, which enables everyone the chance to make art.

Angels, Beasts, Shepherds, Kings, and Queens

The holiday event Angels, Beasts, Shepherds, and Kings has been an RGS tradition for more than 30 years. Makers of all ages have come together to create whimsical, traditional, outrageous (or all of the above) sculptural concoctions. They adorn the windows and walls at the River Gallery School; most are for sale to support the school's inclusive scholarship policy. Come and enjoy, adopt one to add to your holiday decor, or make something yourself! The possibilities are endless, and it's fun!

January  - Adult Studio Show

Opening: January 4th, 2019
5:30 - 7:30 pm

Students in the Fall semester of Adult Studio will show a wide variety of artwork this month. Studio class focuses on individual process, with each artist developing and executing projects of their choice, with guidance from the artist/teachers. Media range from oils, acrylics, and water-based media to 3-D and mixed-media, and inspiration and support are exchanged among the participants. Working in a low-key but focussed studio environment as a weekly practice helps keep the creative gears in motion!
Gallery 34 will feature artwork by the RGS Board of Trustees
